Happy Hour
Do you find yourself living for the weekend? or the next vacation?
Everyone understands that they need to put time aside to recharge, rebalance, refresh, reflect and rejuvenate. Whatever "re" you need, why compartmentalize it into a specific box like the vacation that is used up before you've recharged your batteries or the weekend that never seems to get here? When that special time finally arrives it is gone in a flash.
Now what? Can you make that refreshed glow last until the next time? Shouldn't we be living in the present just in case. I think so, it is wise to plan for the future but not to lose site of the present in the process. None of us knows what may happen tomorrow plus we don't want to be so worn out that we can't enjoy 'the break' when it gets here.
One idea is to have a happy hour or 'me time' everyday even if it is only half an hour in the morning, after lunch or after dinner. Do something that makes you happy for a short time daily. It will lengthen your life. Have a day when you don't watch or listen to the news and of course, squeeze in some exercise. It is good to identify this time on your calendar, build it into your routine and do it religiously.
