Testosterone Pellets

The benefits of hormone replacement for both men and women are well known and most people are now aware that it in fact it is does not cause cancer and all the other bad things that used to be  rumored. But it appears that not many people are familiar with pellet therapy. Pellets are a particularly convenient method for people on the go, especially men.
That's because a lot of men don’t like to have to use something everyday, especially not creams and gels. Many prefer shots but then they get tired of being stuck. Pellets are done 2 or 3 times a year and that’s it.
So what are pellets?
They are a method of administering hormones and are inserted just under the skin of the buttock. These subcutaneous pellets have been used for decades and are plant- based. More specifically they are made from wild yams. Testosterone is the commonest hormone administered by pellet but both estrogen and progesterone can be added.
Pellets avoid the fluctuations of hormone levels seen in other methods. They have very few side effects and peak levels occur in 4 weeks. Women will begin experiencing benefits after a week and men within  two weeks.
Symptoms of menopause and andropause are relieved for months. Pellet  users  like them so much that their continuation rates are reported to be over 90%.
In women 90%of vaginal atrophy and dryness is resolved and 75% of mood disorders improved. Men have an over 95% rate of increased energy and muscle tone with resolution of erectile dysfunction related issues.
Another advantage is that testosterone cannot be spread to other family members in this way.
There are research papers that have come out showing that not only does testosterone prevent breast cancer it can be used to  suppress and treat it. This is exciting news because it means it is even safe for breast cancer survivors (usually given with aromatase inhibitors). Other actions of testosterone include: Reduces fatigue, corrects insomnia, improves memory, focus and concentration. Increases libido and increases lean muscle mass.
For more information on testosterone pellets and hormone replacement read my new book "Sex, Sanity and Sleep!' If you would like a one on one consult about this exciting modality call for an appointment.

Saturday Hours for 2017……………..starts this weekend!

Happy New Year! I am going to make a concerted effort to blog more this year, not just about 'health' but about 'life' in general.

Things that I find interesting and want to share. One subject is travel, whenever a patient asks me where I went and I tell them, they always say "did you like it?" or "what is it like?" Last year I went to England (my birth place), Spain, Italy, Portugal and St. Lucia and I have so much to tell you about these exciting places. Where better to talk about it than my blog? If you like to hear about this kind of thing please remember to give it a thumbs up and I will keep it up :)

Anyway, stay tuned, I will talk about that in my next blog.  The purpose of this one is a little more mundane: Don't forget that we are in the Laurel office on the first Saturday morning of the month………..which means I will be there this weekend. Give us a call for an appointment so you don't have to miss work or get stressed while trying to commute.
Warm regards and Best wishes for 2017. Dr. Tuakli
